Our Schools
Yelm is home to the fourth largest school district in Thurston County, serving communities in Yelm, McKenna, Roy, the Nisqually Indian Reservation and parts of the Lacey suburbs. Yelm Community Schools spans 192 square miles and serves 5,900 students in Thurston and Pierce Counties.
Yelm High School is home to one of the state's most comprehensive College in the High School programs. Students are able to work toward an Associates degree or get a head start on their Bachelors degree at the high school campus through a partnership with Central Washington University and South Puget Sound Community College.
Our Schools also offer adult college courses, taught by South Puget Sound community College staff on our high school campus including an adult high school diploma program.
The City of Yelm proudly supports Yelm Community Schools in a city-wide effort to promote graduation readiness in an initiative called "Graduate Yelm!" We believe it is a community effort to prepare students with the knowledge and skills required for successful careers.
