Sewer rate revenues go into a dedicated fund that are split between five focus areas including: Maintenance, Operations, Preservation, Improvement, and Administration. These key components keep the system operating efficiently and ensure the safe treatment and reuse of wastewater.
An adjustment to sewer rates are necessary to cover the cost of operation and maintenance for the City of Yelm’s wastewater treatment infrastructure. Sewer rates are carefully considered by Yelm City Council and City staff to ensure proper maintenance and infrastructure needs are met, while keeping rates as low as possible for our community.
Yelm City Council and City staff worked during open public meetings to develop a sustainable funding plan. Council meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month here at Yelm City Hall. There is time dedicated for public comment at every meeting and you are always encouraged to attend.
