COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day

In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the novel coronavirus a pandemic, prompting state public health officials across the country to issue stay-at-home orders amid escalating cases. By the end of the month, the number of COVID deaths passed the 100,000 mark. Today the COVID-19 death toll in the United States has surpassed 500,000, and the City of Yelm joins other cities, families, friends and community members in celebrating and memorializing the lives and legacies of COVID-19 victims and survivors.
